Deep Sea Fishing- Off the Coast of PEI

Today Mark, Kaatje and Hailey  joined Aiden and his crew in North Rustico for a Deep Sea Fishing Adventure.  This excursion was planned because of Kaelyn and Daddy’s love of seafood.  The two of them have been in search of all the best seafood and they figured the freshest seafood would be seafood they caught.  Kaelyn had been looking forward to this all week and believed it would be the highlight of our entire trip.

Unfortunately, we were awoken in the wee hours of the morning to the sound of Kaelyn vomiting up all the smoked Makeral her and Daddy had eaten that evening.  Kaelyn could do nothing but lay in bed and stare as her sisters left on her dream adventure.  Luckily, she couldn’t dwell on it too long, she had several more dates with her puke bowl.

When they arrived at the boat, they met their fellow adventurers.  However, they were not first time fishers like the girls.  These people arrived with their own rods, bait and coolers.  So you can imagine their reactions when our daughters were more worried about returning the fish to the water without harming it then the size and weight.  It was an adventure to say the least.  Hailey even caught a Halibut.  A very rare fish.  Lucky for her…it is illegal to keep them.  If caught with one on board, the captain loses its license.  So she got her wish and got to return it.  The girls also caught Mackerel which they used for bait for the bigger fish and some Cod.

It was a great day for all.  Daddy’s favourite moment was chasing Kaatje with the fish she caught.
