Day 15 – Lake Louise

Day 15 – Lake Louise

Today we drove about 45km to Lake Louise. About 4km off the highway we parked in the highest ‘large vehicle’ section. A short walk down to the lake, and then 5km to circle the lake and back. Still ice on it, but they were getting the canoes ready for people to rent soon. Don’t need to say much more than WOW and look at the pictures.

The Cave and Basin National Historic Site is the birthplace of Canada’s national parks. You can read about it here. As you walked up, you see a pole indicating the distances to other National Parks. I think we need to edit Point Pelee distance. It was closer to 3000km for us. And it’s totally the wrong way 😉 The main feature was the initial cave the brothers...

Being a Wednesday, I had a long day at the office (ie. Starbucks). With Kaelyn’s exciting secret (let’s say she was asked to send in a tape for a Disney movie), we wanted to give her as much time in the afternoon as we could. Plus the weather wasn’t too great. So we decided a nice warm swim after dinner was the best way to end the day.
