Homemade Silly Putty

This simply and easy recipe only required three household ingredients but it offered more than an hour of fun.  I think the key was the addition of glitter and food colouring- turning this into Frozen Silly Putty.

TAke one bottle of glue and dump it into a bowl.

Add an equal amount of water by filling up the glue bottle and add it to the bowl.  If you wish to add colouring or glitter and other decorations, do so at this point and stir well.12373376_10153789376312937_7006284204739754415_n

We mixed a tsp of borax into 1/4 cup of boiling water to get the borax to dissolve and then added to the bowl.  The magic begins almost immediately.  It is wet at first…but the more you play with it by stirring or kneading with your hands…the better it becomes.  We also broke out our play-dough cutters etc.  11224260_10153789376307937_2085242125827202389_n
Afraid she might try to eat the silly putty, poor Maria had to settle for painting. Luckily she didn’t mind and Mommy finally got to tackle putting away that mountain of laundry from our trip 🙂
